DATE: 2022/10/13 10:00 AM – 13:00 PM EET
PLACE: ATHENS, GREECE (HYBRID)
The next PAPILLONS/MINAGRIS Agricultural Plastic Stakeholder Forum will be held on the 13th October 2022 in Athens, Greece at the Museum of Agriculture in a hybrid form for both in-person and virtual attendees (10:00-13:00 EET, 09:00-12:00 CET).
The meeting is cohosted by the Agricultural University of Athens and IKHAPP (the International Knowledge Hub Against Plastic Pollution).
This semester meeting focuses on an international perspective on plasticulture and environmental sustainability. It will provide our international stakeholders an opportunity to gain insights and participate in the debate on international policy developments on the use of plastic in agriculture.
What are PAPILLONS & MINAGRIS?
PAPILLONS (Plastic in Agricultural Production: Impacts, Lifecycles and LONG-term Sustainability) & MINAGRIS (Micro- and Nano-Plastics in Agricultural Soils: Sources, environmental fate and impacts on ecosystem services and overall sustainability) are research projects supported by the European Commission.
Both projects study the effects of micro- and nanoplastics in agricultural soils, resulting from the use of agricultural plastics. During the Stakeholder Forum, we will also present the latest updates from our research on the use, diffusion, management, and ecological impacts of agricultural plastics, emerging from our projects and other international research projects.
The meeting will include multiple interventions from high-level FAO and EU officials as well as stakeholders from across the EU.
