The Plastic Soup Foundation was founded in February 2011 with the goal to make everyone familiar with the phenomenon of plastic soup and to stop it at its source.

Why we fight plastic pollution

Our mission is clear: to prevent harm to human health and the planet from plastics and chemicals, phase out single-use plastics and toxic additives, put health at the heart of policy, and work towards systemic change and the end of big oil.

We tackle the root cause

We don’t believe in quick fixes. We drive structural change through campaigns, science, legal action and political pressure. It’s the only way to protect our health and future generations.

Health over plastic

We aim for a world where the plastic crisis is seen as a threat equal to climate change. Where health is no longer sacrificed for profit. And where everyone is protected from irreversible harm. It’s time for a Plastic Treaty that protects our health.
