The MINAGRIS project will assess the impact of plastic debris in agricultural soils on biodiversity,
plant productivity and ecosystem services and their transport and degradation in the environment.
We will provide tools and recommendations for sustainable use of plastic in agriculture at the farm
and field levels for ensuring safe and economically viable food systems in Europe.

MINAGRIS aims to contribute to healthy soils in Europe by providing a deeper understanding and tools to assess the impact of microplastics and nanoplastics in agricultural soil health.
We have a new blog post out from UK MINAGRIS partners at the CCRI. It shines a light on the problem of plastics in municipal compost, and the impacts of this on farmers and their soils. Seemingly well known in the agricultural community, in the wider public this issue is far from as well known as the issue of ocean plastics, yet it is likely to contribute to them. Read more here...
